Good Luck on Your Quest

So I was working at the thrift shop. Having a fantastic time. This woman comes in, she shops around, we chat a little, I ring up her items and “have a nice day” at her. She looks up, smiles, accepts her change, and tells me “Good luck on your quest!”

Good luck on your quest.

As though it’s the most natural thing in the world to say to somebody you don’t know from Adam’s housecat. I spent the rest of the day wondering if somebody was going to show up and hand me a vorpel blade or something. And then I got to thinking, if I haven’t yet started a quest, I will be soon. I’m just, uhm, looking for the right time.

It’s funny how sometimes the universe laughs at you.

Basically, I’ve been ruminating on all the things I’ve been meaning to do, the projects I’ve been wanting to start, the things I’ve almost done but haven’t because I haven’t thought I’d be good enough or whatever. And realizing that most of my reasons not to do things are absolute bullshit. Then telling myself I’m waiting on a sign from the universe that I’m moving in the right direction.

Such as a random person wishing me good luck.

So there you go. Message received. If you need me, I’ll be questing.
